A press conference was held by the Gandia Town Hall on May 8 for the tenth solidarity race, Run for Parkinsons in aid of the Association Parkinson Gandia Safor.
They are a charity that helps families and people suffering from Parkinson’s in their day-to-day life, and they hold this solidarity run annually to help raise awareness and fundraise.
Any sponsorships or donations gathered will go directly to helping improve the quality of life of the charity’s users and their families.
10 years of running mean 10 years making a difference
On May 25, the run, which has been given the slogan ‘10 years of running, 10 years of leaving a mark’ will begin at 10am. It will cover a 5km route along Neptune’s promenade at Gandia Beach, starting from the Nautical Club. Registration for the event costs just €8 and can be completed online at Crono4Sports.
They are hoping that local educational centres and schools will get involved with spreading the word about the event and that the run will help in raising awareness of the association’s work in the community and facilitate them to be able to make even more of a positive impact in people’s lives who are affected by Parkinson’s.
