On March 8, the Parkinson’s support group held their bi-weekly meeting at the Renaissance old age home.
The gathering provided a safe and supportive space for individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease to share their experiences, exchange health tips, and connect with fellow group members.
The group’s meetings serve as a vital lifeline for those navigating the challenges of Parkinson’s.
Parkinson group chairman, Mark Hutchinson spoke about the group meetings.
“These meetings are important to us, we really do support one another,” said Mark.
By sharing their stories, members can find comfort, guidance, and encouragement from others who understand their journey.
As the group looks ahead, it will be joining the global community in observing World Parkinson’s Day on April 11.

This special day is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding about Parkinson’s disease and marks the birthday of Dr James Parkinson, who first described the condition in 1817.
Through their regular gatherings and participation in awareness initiatives, the Parkinson’s support group fosters a sense of community and camaraderie, helping to alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness often associated with the condition.
As the group continues to grow and thrive, it remains a beacon of hope and support for those affected by Parkinson’s disease.
