Parkinson’s disease, the second-fastest-growing neurological disease in Ireland after Alzheimer’s, presents a significant challenge for individuals and their families. With only 8 dedicated Parkinson’s nurses in the Republic and a serious shortage of neurologists and movement disorder specialists, many individuals face lengthy delays in diagnosis and treatment.

To address this pressing need, a series of free online webinars are being offered throughout April, in honour of World Parkinson’s Month by Ireland’s only dedicated Parkinson’s coach, Irene Treacy. These webinars aim to empower individuals to take control of their health, manage symptoms, and slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease.

Scheduled for April 11th, World Parkinson’s Day,  April 18th and 25th  these webinars will feature Irene Treacy sharing insights gleaned from top neuroscientists, doctors, and healers from around the world. Participants will learn about the latest research and techniques for managing Parkinson’s symptoms, with real-life success stories demonstrating the effectiveness of these approaches.

Parkinson’s disease is often associated with older individuals, but the rise in diagnoses among younger people underscores the need for early intervention. Stress and toxins are believed to contribute to the increasing prevalence of Parkinson’s in individuals under 50 years old. Recognizing this trend, Irene emphasizes the importance of addressing the emotional aspects of the disease, as unresolved trauma can exacerbate symptoms.

To join these free webinars, register at www.helpingpeoplewithparkinsons.com for the sessions on Thursdays, April 11th, 18th and 25th at 8pm (all different topics).
